The Rose Ruderman Scholarship Fund
In 1999, The Rose Ruderman Scholarship Fund was endowed at the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) in honor of our grandmother, Rose Ruderman. Since then, it has provided tuition assistance to students who attend Orthodox Jewish day schools in the Greater Boston area.
Recently, in addition to providing needs-based scholarship funding, the Fund honored seven students from Boston area Orthodox Jewish day schools who received the 2009 Rose Ruderman Scholar Award.
The Rose Ruderman Scholar Award was established to recognize students who contribute to the Jewish community by reaching out and helping others. Rose Ruderman was a compassionate person who always sought to improve the lives of her friends, family, and members of her community. The $1,000 Award recognizes outstanding students who exemplify the values which Rose Ruderman embodied, such as commitment to family, involvement in the community, and kindness and respect to others. We anticipate that these awards will be given on an annual basis.
